Uploading Marks to the System

This is the final step. You will import the prepared marks file into Microsoft Dynamics, confirm the marks are recorded, and post them using the Post Marks button.

What you will do​

  • Go back to Microsoft Dynamics
  • Identify and delete the placeholder row
  • Import the final marks CSV file
  • Confirm marks are in the system
  • Click Post Marks to finalise

Step-by-step instructions​

1. Return to Microsoft Dynamics​

  1. Log in to Microsoft Dynamics if you are not already logged in.
  2. Navigate to the Import Historical Marks section.
  3. Locate the record you created in Step 3.
  4. Note the Batch Number (e.g. CIN-XXXX) — you should see it listed.

2. Delete the placeholder row​

In Step 3, you entered a dummy value to generate the template. That row must be removed before importing real data:

  1. Find the placeholder row in the marks grid.
  2. Select it.
  3. Click Delete and confirm with OK.

3. Import the marks file​

  1. Click Import.
  2. When prompted, select Final Marks as the import type.
  3. Browse to your prepared marks CSV file (from Step 4).
  4. Select the file and click Open / Upload.
  5. The system will process the file and load the marks.
Processing time

The import may take a few moments depending on the number of records. Wait for the confirmation message before proceeding.

4. Confirm the marks are in the system​

  1. After the import completes, navigate back to the marks list.
  2. Verify the student marks appear correctly.
  3. Check that the correct subjects, scores, and student numbers are shown.

5. Post the marks​

Once you have confirmed everything is correct:

  1. Click the Post Marks button.
  2. That's all — the marks are now finalised and published in the system.
Do this for every year and session

Remember: you need to repeat the full 5-step process for each year of study and each semester session. For example, for a programme with 4 years × 2 sessions = 8 separate import cycles.

Process complete ✓​

You have successfully:

  • ✅ Mined the data from AppNow
  • ✅ Converted it to the required format
  • ✅ Generated the Dynamics template
  • ✅ Edited and merged the data in Excel
  • ✅ Imported and posted marks in Microsoft Dynamics
